My research and teaching interests include contentious politics, authoritarian regimes, informal institutions, gender, feminist and intersectional approaches, research ethics and methodology. Working under the supervision of Professor Juan Wang, my dissertation focuses on the normalization of protests in authoritarian regimes, and more specifically on authoritarian governance in contexts where protests are commonplace. My research focuses on the case of postcolonial Algeria, and has been supported by several scholarships and grants such as the Canada 150 Research Chair on Global Governance and Security (2021-2025), the Joseph Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholarship (2015-2018), McGill Graduate Mobility Award (2018), Schull Yang International Experience Award (2017) and a Project on Middle East Political Science (POMEPS) Travel – Research – Engagement grant (2018), and a writing fellowship at the Center for International Studies at the Université de Montréal (2020-2021).
